) Our representative survey involved 1.037 Czech Republic respondents. Results indicate a widespread delight of belonging to the EU but also worries of foreigners and apprehension of EU enlargement. 2) The follow-up study was a secondary analysis of European Social Survey (ESS) Czech data, scrutinizing in/tolerance. First, respondents were classified into a psychological, value-based typology by (Sawtooth) cluster analysis of Schwartz Value Questionnaire data. Respective types manifest following patterns of in/tolerance: a) educated aspiring Social Liberals predominantly embrace diversity; b) young Hedonistic Individualists tend to lack crystallized opinions and if at all tolerant, their tolerance tends to be ignorant; c) older and virtuous Ascetic Traditionalists show concern for their country and benevolence to others which stops short of people of different ethnicity (sign of bigotry). Withdrawn Negativists extend their generalized resentment to other peoples.
