Boundary layers on a rough flat plate surface under external turbulent flow were investigated. Three types of the sand-paper roughness and five different scales of external turbulence were applied. It was ascertain that roughness is affecting the boundary layer more significantly than the free stream turbulence however adding external turbulence further advanced and shortened transition.
