Nasality caused by velopharyngeal insufficiency is modeled using the transfer matrix method in connection with conical acoustical elements in frequency domain. The vocal tract is considered as a branched system with two nasal channels. The influence of viscous losses and radiation impedance both at the lips and at the nostrils are considered. The results of modal analysis are compared with the results got from 3D FEM models.
