Textural analysis of microporous-mesoporous samples is usually based on the analysis of physical adsorption of inert gases (e.g. nitrogen or krypton at 77K or argon at 87K). Besides for determination of the sample porosity two classic methods, mercury porozimetry together with helium pycnometry, are applied. The simultaneous presence of micropores and mesopores makes the textural analysis based on transformation of physical adsorption isotherms of inert gases much less straightforward than in case of porous solids with mesopores only. Similarly, the presence of micropores can cause a lapse in the mercury porozimetry data evaluation and can result in failure of the porosity determination.
