In mid-January 2007 and at the turn of February- March 2008, two extremely strong windstorms, i.e, Kyrill (K) and Emma (E) occurred. During these windstorms an increasing level of secondary long-period microseisms (T=4-8 s) was observed. Maximum displacement amplitudes reached the values A≈2μm (K) and A≈1.5μm (E). The input meteorological data represent some results of regular meteorological observations, i.e. wind speed, wind gusts and wind direction. The maximum velocity of the wind gusts at the top of Mt. Sněžka was estimated to be 60 m/h (K) and 54 m/s (E). Windstorm Kyrill generally caused in Europe more damages than Emma.
