Antioxidant enzymes, important for the cleavage of toxic oxygen products, are highly decreased at the ocular surface of patients suffering from dry eye disease (Sjögren´s syndrome). This contributes to the development of anterior eye surface oxidative injuries.

Antioxidační enzymy, důležité z hlediska rozkladu toxických produktů kyslíku, jsou při očním povrchu pacientů trpících autoimunitním onemocněním suchého oka (Sjögrenův syndrom) sníženy, což přispívá ke vzniku oxidačních poškození.
