In the contribution an alternative to the classical thermodynamics, the caloric theory of heat, is outlined and the conceptual basis of thermodynamics involving the "Principle of equivalence of heat and work" is critically analyzed. Illustrative examples of the application of the caloric theory are added.

V příspěvku je nastíněna alternativa ke klasické termodynamice, kalorická teorie tepla a je kriticky analyzována pojmová báze termodynamiky včetně "Principu ekvivalence tepla a práce". Jsou připojeny ilustrativní příklady aplikace kalorické teorie.
