The author writes on the relationship of Picasso to Communist countries after 1945 and on Picasso´s attitude to the political events in the countries in former Soviet Bloc, i. e. to Czechoslovakia after 1948 Communist coup, to Hungary after 1956, and again to Czechoslovakia after 1968. The correspondence of different personalities with Picasso is documented from letters archived in Musée Picasso in Paris. The author arguments, that during the above mentioned period Picasso stated clear support to the Communist Party and to the Communist regimes in the Soviet Bloc, which was not an obstacle to help to create an image of the most important representative of the post-war modernism, who was accepted especially in the USA by rich capitalist collectors as well as by MOMA.

Autor sleduje vztah Picassa ke komunistickým zemím po roce 1945 a jeho vztah k událostem v těchto zemích, zejména po roce 1948 v Československu, po roce 1956 v Maďarsku a po roce 1968 opět v Československu. Korespondence s Picassem je doložena materiály z archívu Picassova muzea v Paříži. Článek formuluje tezi, že Picasso po celé zmiňované období zastával jasnou podporu komunistickým ideálům i východoevropským komunistickým režimům, současně se etabloval zejména v USA mezi bohatými sběrateli a vlivnými institucemi (MOMA) jako nejvýraznější představitel modernismu.
