The cavity size of cyclophanes, which resulted from attaching the terminal amine groups of 1,4,8,11-tetraazaundecane to the benzylic carbons of o-, m- or p-xylanes, changes moderately as a consequence of the substitution at the aromatic ring. The effects caused by these changes on the equilibrium constants for protonation and Cu(II) complexation are analyzed and compared with those of the noncyclic polyamine.

Velikost kavity cyklofanů, které vznikly připojením koncových aminoskupin 1,4,8,11-tetraazaundekanu k benzylovým uhlíkům o-, m- nebo p-xylenu, se mírně mění v závislosti na substituci aromatického jádra. Vlivy těchto změn na rovnovážné konstanty pro protonaci a komplexaci Cu(II) byly analyzovány a byly porovnány s rovnovážnými konstantami necyklického polyaminu.
