Tradice pořádání konference Experimentální analýza napětí započala v šedesátých letech minulého století. Cílem této konference je především získání přehledu o rozvoji experimentálních metod a o soudobé problematice a úrovni experimentálního modelování v mechanice, rozvoji experimentálních metod v oblasti mechaniky těles a interdisciplinárních oborů (mechatronice, biomechanice, ap.), vývoji nových materiálů, počítačové podpoře experimentu, současných technických prostředcích a novinkách v instrumentaci experimentů v oblasti mechaniky těles.

The Experimental Stress Analysis Conferences tradition was started in the sixties of the last century. Pursuance of the 45th international conference proves the continuous want of experimental method in mechanics in the field of research, development of new materials, structures and technologies and following continuous interest of research workers about progress in that field. It also proves that pessimistic predictions in the beginning of immense development of PC techniques and resulting possibility of numerical simulations in mechanics, predicting decreasing and very often even inefficiency of experimental methods were wrong.
