Proceedings present the papers of three workshops organized by the Research Centter for the History of Sciences and Humanities: 1. Nation and Nationality, 1918-1919. Between Biology, History and Politics; 2. Historian and Database. The Possibilities and Limitations of Utilizing Database for Historical Research; 3. History of Mentalities and its Reception in the Czech Lands. Furtgermore, the texts to the thematic wholes of Czech and Polish Sciences are published in the úproceedings. Contacts and Parallels and six independent studies on the history of science (the issues of nutrition, gender, scientific streams in the biological sciences at the turn of the 20th century, etc.).
