Membranes, based on regenerated cellulose, were made of viscose or a viscose/anionic polyelectrolyte solution, using microwave irradiation to achieve sol-gel transition. Reference membranes using classic thermal sol-gel transition, were also prepared. Their properties, appearance, swelling, morphology, retention, mean pore radii and distribution, were determined and compared.
