A composite gold electrode prepared by the dispersion of gold particles and graphite powder within the polymethacrylate resin was applied for differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetry of arsenic(III), which provided the detection limit of 0.32ug L-1, at the electrolysis time of 2000 s. Electrochemical activation of the electrode surface before each measurement ensured good reproducibility of the arsenic(III) determination. Neither the surface-active compounds, nor an excess of chloride ions affected the results of the determination. The only interface arose from an excess of copper(II) ions, which could be eliminated either by their complexation with EDTA, or by their reduction with hydrazine and potasium bromide.
