The kinetics of short crack growth has been studied in two austenitic-ferritic duplex steels. The natural cracks were initiated in constant amplitude loading with different plastic strain amplitudes and kinetics of its growth has been studied. The "equivalent crack" approach has been adopted. The experimental data for the whole range of applied plastic strain amplitudes were analysed using present approaches and relevant parameters allowing the description of the kinetics of the short crack growth were evaluated.
