The practical use of the Tipping-bucket rain gauges is shown and a method to derive the one minute rain rates is discussed concluding that the one minute sampling from the step by step (i.e. tip by tip) of the linearised rain amount record should be performed more times using shifts of a few seconds (15,30 and 45 second shifts in our example). The particular results should be averaged. The averaging is not necessary for higher exceedance probabilities (above 5*10-5 % in CZ). A measurement of one year rain rate distribution at 4 sites in CZ is shown as well as the mutual correlations. It is confirmed that the correlation decreases with increasing distance. It would be desired to agree the evaluation of 'one minute' rain intensity statistics with meteorologists to support the reasonable planning of radio communication systems.
