The view on the organization of highly active ribosomal genes within the nucleolar architecture in order to address the longstanding controversy whether, in animal and plant somatic cells, such transcribing ribosomal genes are found in the DFCs (together with the DFC/FC border) or the FCs (together with the FC/DFC border) was presented.
