Holocene tufa cascades of the Bohemian Karst were growing in the Boreal to late Subboreal period (9,5000-2,500 years B. P.). The end of their formation is marked by the onset of a dry period in the Late Bronze Age. The local erosion of some cascades in the Bohemian Karst in the last years makes us to assume that most cascades in the Bohemian Karst were destructed in the recent past - probably during the LIA. In this perspective, LIA seems to be the period of maximum erosion intensity within the whole of the Holocene.
