    N-S-striking calcite veins that occur in lower Paleozoic sequences of the Barrandian basin (Czech Republic) precipitated from low-salinity fluid at temperatures ( 70°C. The veins probably reflect episodes of lineament-controlled fluid migration that occurred during late stages of the Variscan orogeny.
