We found that the gene for ADD1/SREBP-1c maps to a region of rat Chromosome 10 previously reported to contain a quantitative trait locus involved in the regulation of hepatic cholesterol levels and the SHR harbors a unique mutation. The SREBP-1 isoforms might contribute to inherited variation in lipid metabolism in the SHR versus other strains of rats

Bylo zjištěno, že ADD1/SREBP-1 mapuje do oblasti chromozomu 10, kde se nachází QTL asociovaný s jaterním cholesterolem a že kmen SHR nese unikátní mutaci. SREBP-1 izoformy by mohly být asociovany s variabilitou lipidového metabolizmu při srovnání kmene SHR s jinými kmeny
