Chiliastische und eschatologiche Vorstellungen und Tendenzen sind, wie bekannt, im Hussitismus sehr stark zum Ausdruck gebracht worden. Ihre Ursachen wurden mit Recht in der politischen, sozialen und kirchenpolitischen Entwicklung Böhmens gesehen. Jedoch gibt es auch eine gewisse philosophische Inspiration, die in dem Bemühen der sog. Vorläufer Hussens sowie in der ultrarealistisch orientierten Philosophie der tschechischen Magister der Prager Universität Ende des 14. und Anfang des 15. Jahrhunderts gefunden werden kann.

Eschatological tendencies were much emphasized in the Hussite movement. The reason derived from the development of the political, social and cultural scene as well from the condition of the contemporary Church. In addition to these elements some inspiration came from the work of the Czech predecessors of John Hus and from the extreme realist philosophy of the Czech Masters of the Prague University at the end of 14th and the beginning of 15th century.
