A new member of the RPCH/AKH family was isolated and identified from the corpora cardiaca of the firebug Pyrrhocoris apterus. This peptide (sequence pGlu-Leu-Asn-Phe-Thr-Pro-Asn-Trp-NH2) induced lipid mobilization and stimulated locomotory activity in macropterous females.
