To document the terrestrial processes that influence meteorite magnetism we monitored changes in magnetic remanence and magnetic hysteresis parameters. Our results indicate that terrestrial processes are capable of changing magnetic properties and can overprint the primary magnetic record. Therefore, an extreme care is required when selecting the meteorite samples for primary magnetic component study.

K určení vlivu pozemských procesů na magnetické vlastnosti meteoritů jsme sledovali změny remanentní magnetizace a magnetických hysterezních parametrů. Výsledky ukazují, že pozemské procesy mohou změnit magnetické vlastnosti a přepsat primární magnetický záznam. Získané poznatky musí být brány k úvaze při výběru vzorků ke studiu primárního směru magnetického pole.
