The elastic coefficients of anisotropic solids are often evaluated from measurements of phase or group velocities of ultrasonic bulk waves by the usage of inverse optimizing procedures. A novel method for geometrical conversion of distorted group velocity data into corresponding phase velocities based on affine combinations of low-order polynomials is presented and compared with piecewise or high-order polynomial reserved.
