Przódmówka opisuje fenomet tzw. wańkowskich dramatów. Przedstawia okoliczności powstania tych sztuk (pierwszą z nich napisał Vaclav Havel, po nim "przejęli pałęczkę" Pavel Kohout, Pavel Landovský i Jiří Dienstbier). Następnie autorka przedstawia cechy charakterystyczne sztuk (włączając w to bohatera, zakazanego pisarza Ferdinanda Vaňka, który stał się alter ego samego Vaclava Havla). Część druga zawiera analizę sztuk, które wyszły spod pióra Vaclava Havla:Audiencja (1975), Wernisaż (1975) i Protest (1978) oraz sztuk pozostałych autorów: Atest (1978), Degrengolada (1981) i Safari (1985) Pavla Kohouta, Remanent (1976) i Areszt Pavla Landovskiego i Przyjęcie (1984) Jirego Dienstbiera.

The foreword study deals with the phenomenon of the so-called "Vaněk plays." It first traces the socio-political circumstances in which these plays emerged (the first was written by Vaclav Havel; others followed by Pavel Kohout, Pavel Landovský and Jiri Dienstbier), then focuses on the characteristics of these plays (including the protagonist, the banned writer Ferdinand Vaněk, the alter ego of V. Havel). The second part of the study provides analyses of Havel's plays Audience (1975), Opening (1975) and Dissent (1978), Kohout's Testimonial (1978), Morass (1981) and Safari (1985), Landovský's Sanitary Night (1976) and Arrest (1983) and Dienstbier's Revenue (1984).
