    Plasma fluctuations in the scrape-off layer (SOL) of TCV have been investigated by means of electrostatic probes and compared with two-dimensional interchange turbulence simulations. In this contribution we present new results from this work with particular emphasis on temporal correlations of the SOL plasma fluctuations. The raw particle density time series in the near SOL are generally symmetric in both amplitude and time, and are characterized by a normal probability distribution. In the far SOL, defined as the region with a broad profile, the time series are dominated by large positive bursts which are temporally asymmetric with a fast rise and a significantly slower decay. The abundance of such events results in skewed and flattened probability distributions. The bursty events are generally attributed to the radial motion of blob-like structures through the SOL.
