Anotace v jazyce práce (do 500 znaků): In the Visegrad states there have been few democratic devices of citizen participation in local politics that have been widely utilized in pratice. On eexception to this are local referendums. The chapter thus overviews data on the politics of local referendums in the Czech Republic from 2000-2006 and compares the Czech experience with that of Poland, Hungary and Slovakia.

V zemích Višegrádské čtyřky je zatím velmi málo demokratických postupů občanské účasti na místních rozhodovacích procesech, jež by disponovaly širokou podporou veřejnosti. Jedinou vyjímkou tohoto pravidla jsou místní referenda. Kapitol poskytuje přehled údajů o politice místních referendech v České republice mezi 2000-2005 a srovnává českou zkušenost s údajem o místních referendech v Polsku, Maďarsku a na Slovensku.
