DNA interactions of osmium arene complexes were studied by following biophysical methods: UV/VIS spectrophotometry, melting behaviour, transcription mapping, CD and LD spectroscopy, plasmid DNA unwinding, quenching of ethidium bromide fluorescence and chemical probes of the DNA structure and conformation. These compounds are coordinated to DNA, preferentially to guanine residues. The cytotoxicity in cancer cell lines A2780 and A2780res was determined. The cytotoxicity of the osmium arene complexes is similar to that of anticancer drug cisplatin.

Interakce osmiových arénových komplexů s DNA byly studovány pomocí následujících biofyzikálních metod: UV/VIS spektrofotometrie, tepelná denaturace DNA, transkripční mapování, CD a LD spektroskopie, zhášení fluorescence EtBr, rozvíjení plasmidové DNA a chemických sond struktury a konformace DNA. Tyto sloučeniny jsou koordinovány k DNA, přednostně ke guaninovým zbytkům. Byla stanovena cytotoxicita v nádorových liniích A2780 a A2780res. Cytotoxicita těchto komplexů je srovnatelná s cytotoxicitou protinádorově účinné cisplatiny.
