This paper presents the development and utilisation of an automated image processing alghorithm for detection and analysis of grains. Using optical polariising microscopy, a set of colored images are collected from an area on a section.

V článku je popsán postup a použití algoritmu automatické obrazové analýzy pro detekci a morfologickou analýzu zrn kalcitu. Vytvořeným postupem byl analyzován soubor barevných obrazů, získaných pomocí optického polarizačního mikroskopu z orientovaných výbrusů a stanovena morfologická anizotropie zrn kalcitu v mramoru.
