Předmětem Sociologických studií je případová studie zaměřená na stupeň rozvoje občanské společnosti v krajích České republiky a faktory, které tento rozvoj ovlivňují. Stěžejní částí je případová studie dvou vybraných krajů, kraje Vysočina a Karlovarského kraje, které reprezentují odlišné stupně rozvoje občanské společnosti. Data pro analýzu byla získána prostřednictvím polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s představiteli neziskového sektoru v krajích. Případová studie je věnována stavu a rozvoji neziskového sektoru, který je základním konstitutivním prvkem české občanské společnosti. Cílem studie je popsat zevrubně stav a rozvoj neziskového sektoru ve vybraných krajích a identifikovat hlavní faktory, sociokulturní i institucionální, které je mohou ovlivnit. Pozornost je zaměřena zejména na to, jaký vliv na míru občanské angažovanosti mají institucionální faktory - působení lokálních a regionálních politických institucí.

The subject of the paper is a case study aimed at examining the degree of civil society in the regions of the Czech Republic. A main part of the study is the qualitative case study of two selected administrative regions that represent as different as possible types in terms of the state of civil society, using interviews with representatives of the non-profit sector. The case studies are focused primarily on the state and development of the non-profit sector, which is author`s conception of the key, constitutive element of Czech civil society. One of the aims is therefore to describe in detail the situation and the development of n-profit sector in selected regions, and in this connection to identify the factors, that may influence its level. Author looks mainly at what kind of institutional features can have an influence on the form of civil society, especially how the local and regional governments affect the state and development of civil society in the region.
