It is however unlikely that everybody would agree on which of these laws are the genuine laws, in that they are nonnegotiable. But first and foremost there is almost no agreement with respect to the nature of the laws, what exactly the laws are about, which domain they regulate and what is the source of their authority. This is quite surprising, for the laws appear to lie within the very foundations of logic. In this paper, we summarize a very down-to-earth and naturalistic explanation of the nature of logical laws that stems from the account of their constitution that we presented in our recent book.
