Miroš Pirner focused his professional and scientific activity first and
foremost on the theoretical and experimental study of wind effects. In
conjunction with this work he built a special laboratory focusing on the
aerodynamics and aeroelasticity of engineering structures. He was the
designer of the first aerodynamic tunnel of then Czechoslovakia, specifically
intended for the study of aeroelasticity of structures. He thus made
possible a lot of new research work as well as the training of a whole
generation of young engineers specializing in this field.
