It has been found that both rhG-CSF and rmGM-CSF stimulate proliferation of GM-CFC by a combination of direct effects (direct action on target cells) and indirect effects (action mediated by induction of other cytokines and growth factors in the organism) whereas in the case of rhGM-CSF only indirect effects have been observed.
