AnnotationThe exploration of ways leading to improvement of professional competences are in the center of our attention. Namely the development of subject didactic competence, i.e. the knowledge of mathematics, the possibilities of its didactic treatment and the ability to apply this knowledge in teaching. The experience proves that development of the ability to pose problems is very productive. We understand problem posing as the aim as well as the tool of education of teacher students and also of in-service teachers. In addition, we regard problem posing as challenge for students and as motivation. For researchers problem posing represents beneficial diagnostic tool.
