Autorka přibližuje stav archivnictví v českých zemích na prahu 20. století s nevelkým počtem archivů a profesionálních archivářů, seznamuje podrobněji s nejednoduchým vývojem tohoto oboru během 20. století až k vyvinutému organismu českého archivnictví na konci 20. století. Charakterizuje současné problémy, které bude třeba řešit v blízké budoucnosti.

Authoress describes the state of archival administration in the Czech Lands on the threshold of the 20th century with a minor number of archives and professional archivists, informs about complicated evolution of this field during 20th century up to the end this century with mature organism of the Czech archival administration. She characterizes contemporary problems that are to be dealt with in the near future.
