Ethics of science is a concept with no clear borders. It the first place, it concerns the problems issuing from the developments in science itself, the new possibilities of action brought about by them and their moral implications. On the other hand, it includes also the problems connected with science as an institution, its social structure, and its impacts on the broader social context of the society.

Etika vědy představuje nejasně ohraničenou koncepci. V první řadě se zabývá problematikou vývoje ve vědě samotné, dále novými technologickými možnostmi zejména v oblasti biologie a medicínských věd a jejich morálními dopady. Na druhou stranu se zabývá taky problémy vědy jako instituce, její sociální strukturou a jejím dopadem na širší sociální kontext společnosti.
