Kapitola se zabývá vyjadřováním mladých lidí, jak je ztvárněno ve třech úspěšných a oceňovaných dílech současných českých prozaiků. Jsou to Hana D. Lehečková (Poupátka), Iva Hadj Moussa (Démon ze sídliště) a Radim Bártů (Poslední pomazlení). Klade si otázku, zda sociolekt současné mládeže lze aspoň do jisté míry poznat i z jeho reflexe v soudobé beletrii. Zaměřuje se na příznačné prostředky lexikální (ve vazbě na určité sémanticko-tematické okruhy), věnuje pozornost i užívání vulgarismů. Na druhé straně neopomíjí ani další složky výstavby textů, kterými se jazyková „syrovost“ a razantní expresivita vyvažuje či kompenzuje: např. využití dramatických dialogů, rozvinutých přirovnání a dalších obrazných vyjádření, nebo aluze k dobovému kontextu kulturnímu, politickému i sportovnímu.

This chapter examines the way young people express themselves as depicted in three successful and critically acclaimed works by contemporary Czech authors: Hana D. Lehečková (Poupátka), Iva Hadj Moussa (Démon ze sídliště) a Radim Bártů (Poslední pomazlení). It poses the question whether the current youth sociolect can be to a certain degree identified through its reflection in contemporary fiction. The focus is on lexical means (in relation to selected semantic and thematic domains) and pays attention to the use of vulgarisms as well. Additionally, it does not neglect certain aspects of text construction, where the language “crudeness” and aggressive expressiveness are balanced and compensated. For example, use of dramatic dialogues, rich similes and other vivid expressions, or allusions towards the temporary cultural, political, and sport context.
