Monografie se v perspektivě funkční diferenciace zabývá nadnárodními počátky literární kritiky v českých zemích v letech 1770–1805 a postupným formováním představ o literatuře a její sociální roli v moderní době prostřednictvím instituce kritiky.

From the point of view of functional differentiation, the monograph deals with the transnational beginnings of literary criticism in the Bohemian lands in the years 1770-1805 and the gradual formation of ideas about literature and its social role in modern times through the institution of criticism.
