Tato publikace se věnuje kritice a vysvětlení byrokraticky a komerčně deformovaného pojetí humanitních a sociálních věd a jejích institucí v posledních desetiletích a mapování možností pro novou vědeckou éru. Reflektuje současné diskuse ve skupinách vědců a univerzitních pedagogů s cílem více otevřít tyto debaty dalším účastníkům ve veřejném prostoru. Dokládá, že ustavování nové vědecké éry bude patrně muset být dlouhodobější transnacionální záležitostí, neboť problém není českým specifikem, ale je předmětem mnoha sporů v Evropě, Severní Americe a některých dalších částech světa.

This publication is focused on critique and explanation of the bureaucratically and commercially distorted conception of the humanities and social sciences and its institutions in recent decades, and on possibilities for a new research era. It reflects contemporary debates in groups of scholars and university pedagogues to open up these debates more to other participants in the public space. It demonstrates that a new research era will probably need a longer-term transnational transition, as the problem is not a Czech specific one, but is the subject of many disputes in Europe, North America and some other parts of the world.
