Hovedmaalet med vandreutstillingen Den usynlige broen. Milada Blekastad 1917–2003 er aa gjoere det tsjekkiske og norske publikum kjent med den meget interessante personligheten Milada Blekastad, med hennes innsats for tsjekkisk litteratur i Norge, med hennes mangeaarige oversettelses- og publiseringsvirksomhet og med hennes rolle som stoettespiller for den uoffissielle litteraturen under de 40 aarene av det totalitaere regimet i Tsjekkoslovakia. Samtidig oensker vi aa presentere Milada Blekastads vitenskapelige arbeid, saerlig hennes viktige bidrag til forskning omkring Comenius, og hennes samarbeid med store tsjekkiske og internasjonale forskere (bl.a. med Jan Patočka, Julie Nováková, Antonín Škarka, Klaus Schaller og Dmitrij Tschizewskij). Vi skal dessuten nevne ogsaa andre aspekter ved hennes utrettelige kulturelle og akademiske virksomhet.

The travelling exhibition presents the life and work of Milada Blekastad (1917–2003) to the Czech and Norwegian public. It focuses especially on her contribution to the reception of Czech literature in Norway, her lifelong efforts as a translator and editor, her support of the Czech literary dissent, her scientific work, especially her crucial contribution to Comenius studies and her cooperation with outstanding figures of Czech and international science (Jan Patočka, Julie Nováková, Antonín Škarka, Klaus Schaller, Dmytro Chyzhevsky among others). The exhibition draws on so far almost untapped Blekastad papers deposited in the Institute of Philosophy, Czech Academy of Sciences and Norwegian National Library in Oslo.
