Jádrem vědecké monografie je povídková sbírka Jana Čepa Dvojí domov. Analýzy jednotlivých povídek se paprskovitě vydávají ke kontextu dvacátých a třicátých let dvacátého století a k celku Čepovy tvorby. Kubíček prostřednictvím textové analýzy poukazuje na souvislost poetiky a estetiky díla Jana Čepa s pojmy jako moderní literatura, realismus, ruralismus, tradicionalismus, katolické ghetto a literární život první republiky. Součástí knihy je kompletní bibliografie díla Jana Čepa i sekundární literatury, která se stává základem studia proměn recepce Čepovy tvorby.

The core of this monograph is Jan Čep’s short story collection Dual Home. Analyses of the individual stories connect them to the context of the 1920s and 1930s and Čep’s literary output on the whole. Using textual analysis, Kubíček points out the links between the poetry and aesthetic of Čep’s work and ideas like modern literature, realism, ruralism, traditionalism, the Catholic ghetto, and the literary scene of the First Czechoslovak Republic. The book also includes a complete bibliography of Čep’s works and related secondary literature, which serves as the basis for an essay on developments in the reception of Čep’s oeuvre.
