Článek pojednává o parlamentních volbách v Myanmě (Barmě) v listopadu 2010. Autor dokazuje,že s opětovným zavedením parlamentu (podle nové ústavy z roku 2008) ,získaly politické strany, které se registrovaly do voleb, včetně stran opozičních ,možnost legálního působení v oficiální politice. Rozhodující slovo v parlamentu i ve vedení státu si však až do března 2011 udržela stávající vojenská vláda a její politická reprezentace, která získala v parlamentu většinu křesel.

The article deals with the 2010 parliamentary elections in Myanmar, the first in more than twenty years. The author examines the Myanmar's pre-election political scene, the conduct and results of the elections and the situation after the elections. His main finding is that while the elections provided some contesting parties with the representation in the new legislative bodies, they were basically designed to ensure the perpetuation of the leading role of the military in the post-election Myanmar
