The effect of alkali promoters on the rate of N2O decomposition was investigated in an inert gas. The Li-promoted catalyst was less active for N2O decomposition than the non-modified one, while the same catalytic activity on Na-containing catalyst was observed. On the other hand, rubidium and cesium caused the increase in N2O conversion. Their beneficial influence on the catalyst activity is probably of electronic nature.
