Issue of wind turbines social acceptance is one of the supporting factor related to success of wind energy projects realization. This contribution presents own research focused on issues of wind turbines perception. This research (supported by Grant Agency of the AS CR nr. KJB700860801) was realized between 2008 and 2009 in case study areas located in Czech Republic, Slovakia and Austria. Gaps and specificities of attitudes between surveyed localities and between particular states were identified. It was found out that respondents in Austria consider ecological benefit as a main reason for wind energy acceptance as contrasted to attitudes of Czech and Slovak respondents – there is considered economic benefit for local municipality as a main reason for wind energy acceptance. Shift and evaluation of attitudes related to perception of wind turbines before and after wind energy project realization were investigated between Czech and Slovak respondents. It was found out that number of opponents and respondents with negative or stand-offish attitudes has decreased by fifth approximately (at the expense of supporters).

Otázka sociální (ne)akceptace větrných elektráren je jedním z podpůrných faktorů realizace projektů jejich výstavby. Příspěvek prezentuje vlastní výzkum zaměřený na otázky percepce větrných elektráren, který byl realizován v letech 2008 a 2009. Srovnávána je názorová hladina dotčených obyvatel České republiky, Slovenska a Rakouska. Bylo zjištěno, že zatímco v Rakousku je hlavním důvodem podpory výstavby větrných elektráren ekologický přístup a snaha o podporu výroby tzv. „čisté energie“, dotazovaní v České republice a na Slovensku jsou ochotni akceptovat větrnou elektrárnu z důvodu ekonomického přínosu pro svou obec. V ČR a SR byla zkoumána i změna subjektivní percepce samotných sociálních aktérů, přičemž se ukázalo, že podíl dotazovaných s neutrálním nebo negativním postojem k větrným elektrárnám před výstavbou se po realizaci snížuje přibližně o pětinu (na úkor podporovatelů).
