In a common garden,we investigated phenotypic correlations between sexual reproduction,clonal growth and storage structures in the grassland perennial, Succisa pratensis, in low- and high-competitive environment. We found no evidence that reproductive costs increase in a high-competitive environment However, high competition intensity reduced relative and absolute investment to flower-head production.

Provedli jsme zahradní experiment, ve kterém jsme zjišťovali fenotypické korelace mezi sexuální reprodukcí, klonálním růstem a zásobními orgány u druhu Succisa pratensis, v podmínkách s nízkou a vysokou kompetiční intenzitou. Nezjisti jsme větší reprodukční náklady v podmínkách vysoké kompetiční intenzity. Ta však výrazně snížila relativní i absolutní investici do produkce semen.
