Ústředním tématem monografie je eschatologické myšlení českých protestantských intelektuálů v přelomovém období kolem Bílé hory a v následujících letech jejich exilu. Na příkladu děl dosud opomíjených, přesto však pozoruhodných osobností pobělohorského exilu - Simeona Partlicia, Paula Felgenhauera a Ondřeje Habervešla z Habernfeldu analyzuje autor, jak se eschatologická tématika uplatňuje v kontextu pozdně humanistického vědění universitního typu, v nábožensko-politické propagandě chiliastů a v kruzích pěstujících okultní nauky.

The central theme of this monograph is the eschatological thought of Bohemian Protestant intelligentsia in the transformational period around the Bohemian Revolt in 1618-1620 and in the subsequent years of Bohemian exile after the defeat of the Revolt. The author analyzes works of several less known but notable Bohemian and Moravian émigrés, such as Simeon Partlicius, Paul Felgenhauer and Ondřej Habervešl of Habernfeld, and demonstrates how the eschatological thought was represented in late humanist scholarly discourse practised at the universities, in millenarian religious and political propaganda and within the circles which dealt with the occult sciences.
