It is demonstrated that a recently discovered painting by Alessandro Magnasco representing "A Hunter Cleaving Game" resembles Titian's "Flaying of Marsyas" in Kroměříž. This resemblance seems to affirm the assumption that a second version of Titian's masterpieces was kept somewhere in Northern Italy in the late seventeenth- and the eighteenth century.
