Wittgensteinovy zápisníky 1914-16 slouží jako úvod k českému překladu poslední, převážně etické části Wittgensteinových zápisníků z let 1914-16, článek dodává jejich historické pozadí v rámci kterého si taky klade otázku oprávněnosti publikovat zápisky, které dle Wittgensteinovy vůle měly být zničeny. Dál poukazuje na to, že nový materiál, který Zápisníky poskytují k poslední a nejtemnější části Traktátu dopomáhá snad k hlubšímu, ale možná ne jasnějšímu nahlédnutí Wittgensteinovy pozice, částečně svým poukazem na její propojení s myšlenkou boha, částečně však i proto, že ve svých zápisních se Wittgenstein dopracovává k pozici, která je neslučitelná s tou, kterou pak předkládá v definitivní verzi Traktátu.

Wittgenstein's Notebooks 1914-16" serve to introduce the Czech translation of the last, primarily ethical, part of these No tebooks. The article offers a historical background, and in that context also raises the question of the justifiability of publishing notes which Wittgenstein intended to destroy and thought to have done so. The article then suggests that the additional material found in the Notebooks for the last and darkest part of the Tractatus helps to a deeper, though perhaps not a clearer understanding ofWittgenstein's position, partly by pointing to its connection with the religious viewpoint, partly howerver also because the postion reached by Wittgenstein in his Notebooks is incompatible with that presented in the published version of the Tractatus.
