Baseline identification of pigments is not sufficient for the description material provenance. Good examples are earthy pigments ů only the phase analysis could distinguish among different clay minerals and therefore also discuss different natural sources and authorŽs preferences in their selection.

Základní identifikace pigmentů nepostačuje k posouzení provenience přírodních materiálů. Typickou ukázkou jsou hlinky, kde teprve přesná fázová identifikace jílových minerálů umožňuje rozlišit materiály z různých zdrojů a autorské preference při jejich výběru.
