Long-term survival and aging of yeast involves the growth of stress factors, e.g. oxidative stress caused by reactive oxygen species (ROS). Yeast colonies remove ROS and ROS-induced damage by changing metabolism to lower ROS production.
Dlouhodobé přežívání a stárnutí u kvasinek je spojeno s nárůstem různých stresových faktorů, např. oxidativní stres vyvolaný reaktivními kyslíkovými druhy (ROS). Kvasinkové kolonie odstraňují ROS a poškození jimi způsobené změnou metabolismus potlačující produkci ROS.
