    Deprotonation of [S2B17H17] 1 with NaH and subsequent reaction with [{RuCl2(eta(6)-MeC6H4 Pr-iso)}(2)] gives new nineteen-vertex [(eta(6)- MeC6H4 Pr-iso) RuS2B16H16] 2, with a nido {SB9} unit and an arachno-type {RuSB9} unit conjoined with a B - B edge in common, and new eighteen-vertex [(eta(6)-MeC6H4 Pr-iso) RuS2B15H15] 3 with a nido {RuSB9} subcluster fused via a common B - B edge to a nido {B-8} subcluster that is additionally linked exo to the {RuSB9} unit by a bridging sulfur atom that is held endo to the {B-8} unit.
